These are three sound files created for use in conjunction with ZTerm 0.9, or
any of the hacked versions (I'm using 0.9.5XK myself).
The sounds are:
connect: me, saying "Connexion established."
filedone: me, saying "File transfer complete."
termbell: me, popping my cheek. I was trying to think of something I could do
to make a non-disgusting noise, and suddenly hit on this. 8^)
You can do one of three things with them:
1) you can drag and drop them onto your system folder. This automagically
installs them in your System file. Easy option.
2) you can (using ResEdit) install the sounds directly into ZTerm itself.
note that this is the preferred method. Within ResEdit, create a new
resource (command-K), and give it the type of 'snd'. Open the three sounds
and copy their resources to that snd resources. Renumber them (I don't
think this is really neccessary) starting at 128.
3) you can put them in the ZTerm application's home folder. For example,
if you were me, you would install them in the folder:
Pinky:Utilities:Communication:ZTerm
(note that you may need to check the doco to see if ZTerm requires a ZTerm Sounds
folder to store its sounds in.
Whatever else you do, do NOT rename the files. They will not play if they are
not named as they are archived.
While I am releasing these sounds into the public domain, I still retain copyright and
all rights to these sounds' distribution. Technically, this makes them freeware. All I ask is that if you use them in some other way (though God only knows *HOW*...they're
quite specialised) that you send me a copy of the program. Not much to ask, eh? 8^)
If you really like them, send me a postcard or email me and let me know what you think.
